[Moabusers] mdiag problem?

Is there a maximum number of lines/characters for moab.cfg or a limit  
w/i mdiag?   I was adding USERCFG entries w/ 1 property per line for  
easier parsing:
USERCFG[userA]  EMAILADDRESS=...
USERCFG[userA]  ALIST=...

mdiag -C
WARNING:  cannot convert XML from string in MUISCreateFrame
ERROR:    communication error cac-admin02.engin.umich.edu:42559  
(string is corrupt - early termination)

When I start to condense the USERCFG lines, I can make the error go  
away (same number of users):
USERCFG[userA]  ALIST=.... EMAILADDRESS=...

This error occurred around 370 users (we have 600+), 860 USERCFG  
lines and 1470-some lines in moab.cfg (numbers are approximate).

We're running moab 5.1.0.
